From Itahari to Thailand, the International Exposure Trip 2024 was simply amazing. It had the perfect mix of learning, culture, and excitement, leaving everyone buzzing with new ideas and memories they’ll never forget.
Innovation in Design
The adventure kicked off with a hands-on Human-Centered Design workshop in bustling Bangkok. Guided by Daryl Lim and Rosemary Phan- the founders of DesignThinkers Academy, students explored how to create solutions that truly resonate with people. From user research to brainstorming and prototyping, it was all about designing with empathy and purpose. By diving right in, they got the hang of seeing things from different perspectives and came up with ideas that really hit the mark, just like how they learned at IIC—hands-on, practical, and always with a focus on real-world impact.
Entrepreneurial Growth at Thammasat University
Next up was Thammasat University, a prestigious institution known for its rich legacy of fostering innovation, critical thinking, and leadership. As part of the Biz Innovate Project, students got the opportunity to pitch their business ideas in an environment that has produced some of Thailand’s most influential leaders and entrepreneurs.
They tackled real-world challenges, conducted market research, and presented their ideas to experienced industry experts. The best part was definitely the hands-on feedback from the experts, which helped students sharpen their skills and boosted their confidence in public speaking and presentations. This experience was a stepping stone towards entrepreneurial success.
Leadership Takeaways from QuantumLeap
The journey didn’t stop; it continued with the Quantum Leap Leaders Programme. This immersive two-day course encouraged students to step into leadership roles, make effective decisions, and work together in teams. It wasn’t just theory – participants rolled up their sleeves, tackled team challenges, and learned the art of dynamic decision-making. By the end, they felt ready to lead with courage and precision.
The True Thailand Experience
Thailand’s vibrant culture added another layer of magic to the trip. From having fun to exploring “Thai”landmarks, students embraced every moment. They shared experiences building new personal connections, cultural understanding, and created memories to treasure forever. For those who didn’t get to participate – you missed out on an amazing Thailand-ish experience!
Student Reflections
The Thailand trip wasn’t just about learning new stuff; it was all about finding yourself, stepping up as a leader, and opening your eyes to a whole new world. Students returned home with a sense of gratitude toward Itahari International College (IIC) for organising such an impactful experience.
The experience felt so familiar and comfortable that students sometimes forgot if they were in Thailand or back home at IIC.
